Senior Pastor: Jerry Phillips
It is a great honor to be the pastor of this wonderful fellowship. Hickory Grove is a very special place for us. It was here on March 2, 1975 that I became a Christian.
During a revival here in 1977, I surrendered to the Gospel ministry. In 1978 God opened the door for me to start working on my education and it was this church that stepped up and took care of the expenses of that education. The first year I attended Langston Baptist Bible Institute then transferred to Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute .
Hickory Grove Baptist licensed me in 1977 and then in 1979 Southside Baptist Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina asked that I be ordained. That ordination took place in June 1979 and we moved to North Carolina. Over the next 18 years we served in three different churches.
God called us back to Conway in 1997 to be the pastor of Hickory Grove. It has been a joy.
Associate Pastor of Students : Position is vacant
Director of Music: Kristie Hinson
It is a great honor and privilege to be called a Child of God. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was 6 years old here at Hickory Grove Baptist Church . I call Hickory Grove “home” because most of my life has been spent serving the Lord here.
I attended Coastal Carolina University, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Music Education. I earned a Master's Degree in Integrating the Arts in Curriculum from Lesley University . I have been employed with the Horry County School District since 1993, where I have taught both academics and music.
I use my Godly parents, the late Rev. Jamie Anderson and Shelby Anderson, as role models as I endeavor to bring up my own child. I have a beautiful daughter, Harmony, who loves the Lord very much. I also have a wonderful husband, Benji, whom I met at a HGBC Music Revival.
I am excited and grateful that God chose me to be the Music Director at Hickory Grove Baptist Church . I consider it an awesome opportunity to lift up God's name through song as we worship together.
CDC Director: Jerley Collins
I was very fortunate to have been brought up in a Christian home. I asked Christ into my heart at a very young age. I have been at Hickory Grove Baptist Church since 1980 and I began working in the infant room of our CDC in 1994. Since then it has been my privilege to care for and love some of the most precious babies in the world—I think!
I also met the most wonderful man, my husband, at Hickory Grove. We both sing in the choir and the Lord has blessed us both in many ways. He is also a deacon in our church. It is my prayer that the Lord will allow me to continue touching the lives of many children through our Child Development Center .

I was born in Goose Creek, SC. In 1992 my parents moved us back to their hometown of Conway. I am a graduate of Horry-Georgetown Technical College with an Associate Degree in Business. In 2002, I met my husband, Chris. It was Chris who led me to the Lord. We were married in December 2003 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
I am thankful to have a loving and God-fearing husband. Chris is pastor at New Home Baptist Church #1 in Conway, SC. I am also blessed to have loving parents, sisters and even in-laws! I am excited about what God has in store for Chris and me. It is my prayer that He will use us not only at Hickory Grove, but wherever He wants us to serve.
